LIGHTING FOR DESIGN

A Game Development project brief where we were encouraged to explore a chosen area of game design and create a project that uses lighting. I decided on an environment art focus.

I created an ruined castle style environment, the player progressing through a cave with a hidden dungeon into the landscape surrounding the castle, progressing towards a courtyard containing a shrine.

​

I tried to use light and colour to guide the player where possible, reds are used to draw the player's attention from the rather otherwise colourless scene, be that in the form of fire or red aspen trees. This was the first time I got to experiment with environment art and I was pleased with the initial project overall.

This was a two week brief. For the module this was submitted as part of I achieved a grade of 80 (First Class)
