THE MAGIC SHOW

A Game Development project brief inspired by Liz England who can be found at the following link:

http://www.lizengland.com/blog/2014/04/the-door-problem/

She describes her job to non-game design folk in terms of designing a door in a game. She details the roles that every person in the company does in their relation to the creation of the doors in the game. It helps people understand how some jobs that may seem less relevant to the making of a game, e.g. the legal department and localisation employees are in fact vital to the completion of the game.

The brief was vague, 'create a project in Unreal Engine 4 which includes a door'. How we interpreted and used the door was at our discretion. I based my idea on several references, the main one being the book series of The Chronicles of Narnia. My game is based on a magic show, set within the Victorian Era. Inspired by Victorian's interests in illusions and magic. The door in the game is the Magician's magic store cupboard, which the player enters to retrieve objects to perform magic tricks.
